These are the three main reasons we paint our homes. Not only is the exterior the first thing we see when we get home, it’s the first line of defense in protecting what is, for most of us, a major investment. After 30+ years painting exteriors, we have the expertise to properly prep and paint all types of exterior substrates.
What don’t we do? Here is a list of just a few of the exterior painting we do:
With an emphasis on quality team training, thorough site walkthroughs and systems to identify any potential safety hazards, you can rest easy and let the professionals transform the exterior of your home. Up to date insurance is included on every proposal and a fresh WCB clearance letter can be generated at your request!
Hope sits where the Fraser Valley meets the Cascade Mountains, and our crews paint exteriors across the whole district — from the small-town grid around Downtown Hope to the lakeside homes circling Kawkawa Lake and the rural properties stretching toward the Coquihalla corridor. Cabins near Silver Creek, acreages out past Laidlaw, and character homes near the town centre all get the same careful prep before a drop of paint goes on.
Looking for something else in Hope? We also handle interior painting and cabinet painting and refinishing across the city.
Hope sits at the head of the Fraser Valley, right where the valley floor gives way to the Cascade Mountains and the Fraser Canyon. That position brings more mountain-driven weather than the lower valley sees — heavier rain, earlier snow at higher elevations, and a shorter comfortable stretch for exterior work overall. Homes on the hillsides around Kawkawa Lake and toward the canyon face more direct exposure than the flatter blocks downtown, so drying time between coats can run longer out that way.
We run our exterior season May through early October, and we won’t apply a coating unless overnight temperatures hold above 2°C — in a mountain gateway town like Hope, that threshold can arrive earlier in the fall and leave later in the spring than it does closer to the coast. A moisture meter checks every job before we start, whether it’s a cabin near Silver Creek or a character home in the Junction District.
– Hillside properties around Kawkawa Lake and toward the canyon see more weather exposure than sheltered downtown lots, which can stretch drying time between coats.
– Hope’s shorter mountain-town season means a late-fall booking has less room to move if temperatures drop early.
– Rural properties out toward Laidlaw and Sunshine Valley often include outbuildings or fencing alongside the main house, adding surface area beyond a standard lot.
– Older wood-frame homes near Downtown Hope and Flood sometimes need extra scraping and priming on bare wood before a topcoat goes on, especially where paint has failed on sun-exposed walls.
What you’ll pay for exterior painting depends on your home’s size, siding, and how much repair work it needs going in — older wood-frame homes near Downtown Hope and Flood often need more scraping and priming than newer builds out toward Sunshine Valley. A free on-site estimate gets you a fixed price covering all labour, materials, and tax, valid for 30 days, and it only changes if the scope does.
May through early October is our exterior season, and in a mountain gateway town like Hope that window can close earlier in the fall than it does closer to the coast. We won’t apply a coating unless overnight temperatures hold above 2°C, so booking mid-season gives the most flexibility if the weather turns.
Yes. Bare wood, failed caulking, and rot are common on older siding near Downtown Hope and on cabins around Silver Creek and Kawkawa Lake, and our prep accounts for it: scraping loose paint, priming bare wood, and checking caulked joints before any topcoat goes on. If a carpenter needs to handle rot repair first, we arrange that ahead of painting.
Yes. Dreamscape has painted Fraser Valley homes since 1990 and holds a business licence in every city we serve, Hope included, with liability insurance and WorkSafe coverage on every job. That matters on steep lakeside lots around Kawkawa Lake and on older wood-sided homes near the downtown core, where ladder work and carpentry repairs are part of a normal exterior repaint.
Hope is a small town, and we work all of it — the downtown core, the lakeside homes around Kawkawa Lake, plus Silver Creek, Flood, Thacker, North Ridge, The Junction District, Yale, Laidlaw, Sunshine Valley, Othello, and Dogwood Valley. Rural properties between those areas are covered too, not just the addresses on the list.
Hope is part of our regular service area, not an add-on. Dreamscape holds a business licence in every city we serve, Hope included, and the same trained crews and fixed-price quote process apply whether the job is in town or out toward Silver Creek and Kawkawa Lake.
Yes. The same crews cover the neighbouring communities, with the same free 30-day quote: Chilliwack, Abbotsford and Mission. Each of those pages covers the local neighbourhoods and the questions homeowners there ask most.
