Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to paint a room?
A typical bedroom takes about 4 to 6 hours. Most projects take anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks, and if you have a deadline, let us know so we can plan the right size of crew.
Can I stay in my home while you paint the interior?
Yes. It is best to spend your time in areas we are not working on, so for whole-house projects we often paint one floor at a time. Rooms can be used again once the paint is dry to the touch, and light artwork can go back up the following day.
Do I need to move my furniture before the painters arrive?
Please move furniture about 3 feet away from the walls and take down pictures and décor. We can help with heavy pieces, and if something is going back in the same spot, let us know and we will leave those nails in place.
How do you prepare interior walls before painting?
Walls are checked for damage, nail holes and dents are filled with spackle, then everything is pole sanded and spot sanded. Gaps and cracks are caulked, and any repaired areas get two topcoats so the finish looks even.
Will there be a paint smell, even with low-VOC paint?
All paint has some odour, including low and zero-VOC products. We recommend opening windows for good airflow, and when a stronger product is needed we bring fans and ventilation tubes. If anyone in your home is sensitive, your estimator can recommend the best paint options.
